Surveyor's Log Book (SLB)

Historically for students who have undertaken distance learning courses in surveying it has been difficult to gain practical experience in any sort of structured manner. To overcome this, our course provides a Surveyor's Log  Book (SLB) which breaks down all of the various aspects of a surveyors work into discrete and measurable components. As a surveyor under training completes each task he gathers evidence to support the experience and learning gained, in a structured manner, guided by the record book. Subsequently, once the book is complete the trainee surveyor can submit his log book to MTA for review. If adequately completed the student will be called for interview (peer review) where his understanding of the subject of surveying will be reviewed by a panel of three experienced and working surveyors. If successful the student will be issued with an MTA Certificate of Competence as a Ship Surveyor (Terms and conditions apply)
