How long does the course last?
You have access to the course material for 6 months but it's entirely up to you how long you wish to spend studying up to 6 months.
Is the course recognised within the industry?
The course is supported by the PYA and is a great pre-requisite to the Superyacht Operations Diploma. The course is also recognised by some international recruitment agencies, they see the benefit for new entrants to the industry to complete this course.
Is there an exam at the end of the course?
No, there is no final exam but a multi choice assessment at the end of each module
What is the pass mark for the assessment?
You must pass each assessment by at least 70% before embarking on the next module
Am I able to pay for the course in instalments?
No
How do I enrol?
You must enrol online using the enrolment form found on the website, this will automatically take you to the online payment form that you must fill out. Once you have done this you will receive immediate access to the online training programme.
Do I recieve a certificate of completion?
Yes we will send you a certificate of completion once you have passed all your online assessments.
What is the academic level of my Diploma?
The Diploma can be used to support a submission for Accredited Prior Learning (APL) when applying to a relevant University of Portsmouth degree
If I fail an assessment do I get a chance to re-take it?
You will have two chances to take each online multi choice assessment, if you fail the second time move onto your next module and make an extra effort to achieve a higher mark to be able to pass overall.

Do I have to pay VAT if I am a foreign student?
Yes you still have to pay VAT on the course fees, however you are able to reclaim the VAT from your local tax office
