ICorr Coating Inspector Level 1 & 2 - £1295.00 + VAT
The Institute of Corrosion is a Learned Society and Registered Charity that has been serving the corrosion science, technology and engineering community since 1959 in the fight against corrosion.
The aim of the Institute is to ensure that the highest principles are set to meet the regulatory requirements, not only of member companies but also their clients and specifiers. This provides assurance of quality inspection on an international scale to the necessary standards.
What the course offers
Both ICorr Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications delivered by Corrodere consist of online core and specialist modules, followed by a day's practical and theoretical assessment. Level 1 students are also required to attend a one day mandatory practical workshop. Recognised by ICorr these qualifications will allow you to work as a qualified coatings inspector.
The entry criteria
ICorr Coating Inspector - Level 1
The student must have 12 months Industrial Experience as a pre-requisite to take this course. The Industrial Experience may consist of:
- Industrial Coatings Applicator
- Abrasive Blast Cleaner
- Spray Painter
- Coating Inspection
- Charge hand, Foreman or Supervisor on Industrial Painting Contracts
- Technical Support personnel, such as coating manufacturers, who have relevant field experience
ICorr Coating Inspector - Level 2
The student must be able to demonstrate 5 years experience within the paint inspection industry as a pre-requisite to take this course.
We strongly recommend that the Level 1 examination is successfully completed before the student attempts Level 2 examinations. The Level 2 examinations are considerably more difficult than Level 1 and include additional essays.
NOTE: if you attempt the Level 2 examination and fail you will not be given a Level 1 certificate of achievement.
The course
This training scheme requires you to complete the online core and specialist units. Each unit must be completed by passing a multiple choice test with100% pass mark. Once the online training is complete Level 1 students are then required to attend a one day workshop. Both Level 1 and Level 2 students then undertake a day's theoretical and practical assessment.
The assessment
The assessment requires you to complete a 4 hour theoretical examination as per the ICORR Req Doc including 40 general multiple choice questions and 5 general essay questions as well as 30 specific multiple choice questions and 4 specific essay questions (70% pass mark).
The practical for Level 1 & 2 has a 1 hour time limit. A further essay exam is also required for Level 2 course which has a 1 hour time limit.
